Tekwill Academy in partnership with Amdaris are happy to announce the start of application process for the ‘C# Fundamentals’ course to take place in Chisinau starting end of October. Tekwill Academy is an educational initiative of the Development of Moldova ICT Excellence Center project, supported by USAID.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS GAINED
Upon course completion, the participant will learn to create model using C# classes and OOP concepts, manipulate models using LINQ, gain knowledge on the most used classes of the .NET Framework, as well as get a general understanding of main OOP techniques and SOLID.
MAIN COURSE TOPICS
Introduction to OOP, meaning of a type, single responsibility, encapsulation.
Introduction to SOLID principles. Applying inversion of control.
Introduction to Visual Studio IDE.
Introduction to C#. Overloading & Interfaces. Exception handling & debugging. Using Collections. Generics. LINQ basics & methods. C# 4.0 and C# 6.0 features. Future of C#.
Introduction into .NET
Testing the projects (unit, functional). Introduction to TDD
COURSE DURATION
Starting October 25th, classes will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening, and on Saturdays in the morning. Course duration is 6 weeks, 42 training hours.
PRACTICAL PART OF THE COURSE
During the course the students will learn to create a Model in C# using all relevant language features from C# 1.0 till C# 6.0; learn to manipulate the models using LINQ, while encapsulating all the manipulation methods in data layer; and saving all the developed things in an appropriate project structure.
BACKGROUND NEEDED
The candidate should possess elementary knowledge of OOP, as well as basic knowledge of writing loops, working with subprograms, program flow and other elements of structural programming. Experience with VCS like Subversion or Git, medium level of programming culture and good knowledge of algorithms will be a plus.
APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS
*This course is offered for free as part of Tekwill Academy pilot program. Only those who pass the selection process will be invited to the course. There are ten spots available at this course.
Candidates are asked to fill out the Application Form by October 6, 2016 and be available to come on the selected test day. Selection process consists of a technical test, an English test and an interview. Candidates will be tested on their reading and audio comprehension (speaking ability is not required). While course material is in English the trainers will be teaching the course in Ro/Ru (depending on majority of group).

Tekwill Academy
Tekwill Academy is an educational initiative within Tekwill ICT Excellence Center, supported by USAID, which will offer regular technical courses throughout the year, taught by programmers and IT professionals from Moldova. Programs offered will contain a strong practical component led by trainers-practitioners, where participants will work in teams on projects in conditions similar to what they would experience at a company. Tekwill Academy was created to increase the level of preparation of ICT professionals in Moldova, by focusing on developing practical skills demanded in this highly competitive field.
