About Moldova
Moldova is located in Eastern Europe, bordered by Romania and the European Union to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south. Its location and history make it a critical crossroad between East and West. The majority of Moldova's 4.2 million inhabitants are well educated and multilingual.
Moldova has a dynamic economy with an average annual GDP growth rate of 6.0% from 2001 to 2008. Services, including ICT, and advanced industries, such us electronics, construction materials, and food processing have rapidly been replacing traditional industries, like agriculture and wine, as the foundations of the national economy. This is thanks in part to liberal trade policies which have opened the door for Moldovan firms to integrate with international markets.
